Remember the article from January where I was telling you that major brands are preparing to launch the first 32 GB SDHC memory cards?

There’s no need to wait for any release date, cause today I found one on Play.com. As you can see the card it isn’t produced by Toshiba or Panasonic, the two brands who first announced their intention of creating 32 gb sdhc cards, it is Play.com branded but I don’t think there will be any problems with this card as long as they offer you a 5 year warranty.
But don’t rush to order this card, first of all be sure it is compatible to your Windows Mobile device! Most of todays pda’s and smartphones have a microsd or a minisd slot. Secondly, if you know for sure your device has a sd slot you will have to find out weather it supports sdhc or not: Actually there is no device that can manage to deal with such huge memory cards, you definitely need to check for a patch or a tweak which will teach your phone how to read and write on sdhc cards. In the worsest case there won’t be a working patch and you will have to install a newer ROM (did it for my HTC P3300). And finally.. please check if you really need 32 gb of space, my laptop has a 20 gb hard disk.. do I want a 32 gb sdhc card? I guess the answer is “no”.
Anyway, you have plenty of time left to test your pda/smartphone for sdhc compatibility, cause the Play 32 gb sdhc card will be released on 23 August for £59.99.
